We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa credit and debit cards. Visit Census™ is PCI compliant through our payment processor Stripe, which encrypts and stores all payment details.
Security, Privacy, and Compliance
HIPAA & Compliance
Visit Census™ is HIPAA compliant and has implemented HIPAA Privacy Rule Policies and Procedures according to the standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information, 45 CFR 164 subpart E (the "Privacy Rule"), and it is our responsibility to protect individually identifiable health information and the system components that such data resides in under HIPAA, the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (the "HITECH Act"), the security and privacy regulations implementing HIPAA and HITECH Act, as may be amended from time to time, other federal and state laws protecting confidentiality of health information, and professional ethics.
PHI Safeguarding
The law requires Visit Census™ to keep a patient's PHI private in accordance with the Notice of Privacy Practices issued by the applicable Covered Entity for as long as each Notice remains in effect. Visit Census™ has implemented appropriate safeguards and comply, where applicable, with the HIPAA Security Rule with respect to Electronic PHI, to prevent use or disclosure of PHI other than as permitted by HIPAA.
Data Encryption and Security
Patient's PHI and other sensitive information is encrypted at rest by using 256-bit keys, and then by Google Cloud Encrypt Storage. All connections from the browser to Visit Census™ (including API access) are required to use HTTPS and encrypted using TLS SHA-256 with RSA Encryption. Visit Census™ systems are kept up to date with the latest security patches and continuously monitored for new vulnerabilities through compliance, security mailing lists and security bulletins.
Service Hosting and Security
Visit Census™ is hosted and managed within Google Cloud's secure data centers, which allows Visit Census™ to leverage all of Google Cloud's built-in security, privacy and redundancy features. Business Continuity
Visit Census™ systems were designed as a cluster of nodes scattered across multiple cloud zones to ensure load balance, high-performance, high-availability, and eliminate downtime. Patient's database is replicated to multiple US regions and routinely backed up for redundancy and disaster recovery.
Training Programs
All Visit Census™ employees are trained to understand and implement HIPAA Policies and Procedures, the Privacy Rule and the Final Rule. Visit Census™ will also train all members of its workforce on all Policies and Procedures implemented in connection with any new or amended HIPAA and HITECH Act rules and regulations, as necessary and appropriate for the members of the workforce to carry out their functions within Visit Census™, before, on or as soon as reasonably possible after the effective date of such Policies and Procedures.
